Jiar-Lynn Chang, DVM
Dr. Jiar-Lynn Chang joined Park Animal Hospital in August 2014. She has an equal and genuine love for animal medicine and people. Her fondness for science and medicine originated during her high school career in Isabela, Puerto Rico after a documentary that ended with the interrogative: “If these creatures that eat and live out of Earth are dying, who do you think are next?”. It was then that she realized that caring and advocating for animals was her role in life. Dr. Chang is also fluent in Spanish.
Graduated From & Year: Dr. Chang completed her Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology in Puerto Rico and obtained her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Interests: Dr. Chang’s diverse background provided her to channel her passion for people, animals and medicine. She served in the US Army for eight years and held leadership positions in organizations throughout her professional development. Dr. Chang enjoys developing comprehensive treatment plans and goals tailored for each patient and owner. Her professional interests include small animal medicine, soft tissue surgeries, and preventive medicine.
Pets: Dr. Chang’s 5 dogs in total: 2 are 15 year old dogs: Guard who is a Lab mix & Hyalinna who is a Maltese mix, then she has Teddy who is a Pom/Yorkie mix, Nation who is a Yorkie and Mulder who is a Pitbull/Collie mix.

Special Interests: When not at work, Dr. Chang enjoys traveling, outreach programs, cooking, hiking, paintball, dancing, and expanding her personal development and leadership. She also enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her four furry kids. Dr. Jiar-Lynn Chang has a warm and gentle nature which makes her endearing and popular with clients. Favorite quotes: “You aren’t wealthy until you have something money can’t buy. ” and “One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time.”
Joshiah Sanabria, DVM
Dr. Joshiah Sanabria, DVM (“Dr. Josh”), joined Park Animal Hospital in September 2014. His goal at Park is to provide excellent service to our clients while providing the best veterinary services to our patients.
Graduated From & Year: His love for animals and their well-being started when he was growing up in Puerto Rico and, ever since, he has known that veterinary medicine is one of his passions. Dr. Sanabria earned his bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology at the University of Puerto Rico and then completed his doctoral degree in veterinary medicine at University of Missouri in 2012.
Interests: Dr. Sanabria loves to be involved with leadership roles and was active with student organizations during his time at Mizzou. His professional interests include internal medicine, preventive medicine and soft tissue surgery. With Spanish as his native language, Dr. Sanabria strongly believes that education is key to having healthier pets by recognition and awareness for diseases and problems.
Pets: Since Dr. Sanabria does quite a bit of travelling he is currently debating on fostering since he believes it would be unfair to commit to owning without being able to be there full time.

Special Interests: When he has free time, Dr. Sanabria enjoys national and international traveling, camping, hiking, exercising, paintballing, movies and concerts, among many others. He also enjoys new experiences and challenging himself to accomplish new goals. For Dr. Sanabria, family and friends are extremely important and he considers himself very fortunate to have their support.
